In 2012, the Florida Legislature created the Purple Ribbon Task Force (PRTF), administratively housed within the Department of Elder Affairs. The PRTF was tasked with developing a comprehensive state plan to address the growing public health impact of Alzheimer’s disease and address the needs of individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders and their caregivers. The task force consisted of 18 members appointed by the Governor, President of the Florida Senate, and Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. The task force submitted its final report and recommendations for an Alzheimer’s Disease state strategy to the Governor and the Legislature on August 1, 2013. The task force adjourned following that submission.
Below are the documents developed by the task force including the results of surveys conducted that informed the state plan.
