DOEA partnered with Ageless Innovation’s Joy for All® Companion Pets to enhance meaningful interactions among older adults, their caregivers, and family members. DOEA began delivering therapeutic robotic pets to socially isolated seniors and individual adults living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in April of 2020. The interactive companion pets help combat loneliness or depression by improving overall mood and quality of life. DOEA is proud of this initiative and the success of this program during the COVID-19 pandemic. DOEA has distributed more than 7,000 robotic pets to date.
Please keep in mind DOEA’s therapeutic robotic pets are intended for individuals.
**If you are a provider and would like to provide multiple pets to your clients at one location, please contact 1-800-963-5337 for vendor information.**
Robotic pets remain available through the DOEA online application tool and are available for any individual older adult referred through the Aging Network. Such referrals may come from the eleven Aging and Disability Resource Centers, 17 Memory Disorder Clinics-Hospitals, Universities, and Medical Clinics, and local physicians who feel the robotic pet would be of benefit to the patients under their care. DOEA will only be able to distribute robotic pets while supplies last.
**We ask you to allow up to 8-12 weeks for delivery.**
